Imitrex is a prescription medication used to treat migraine headaches.

How Imitrex Works
Imitrex targets the blood vessels and the nerves which cause the migraine headaches.

How Taken
When you have migraine simptoms take one dose of Imitrex. In some cases two doses may be required, but not more than 200 mg a day, can be taken only if instructed by your personal healthcare practitioner.

Possible Side Effects
The following side effects may occur when taking Imitrex: dizziness, nausea, fatigue, drowsiness

Warnings/Precautions
If you have any of the following conditions you should not take Imitrex: allergy to Imitrex, Raynaud syndrome, strokes in the past, certain types of heart disease, transient ischemic attacks, uncontrolled blood pressure, peripheral vascular disease. You should consult your personal doctor before taking Imitrex if you smoke, have high cholesterole or high blood pressure, diabetes.

Overdose
In case of overdose of Imitrex you must get immediate medical care.

Drug Interactions
Before taking Imitrex inform your personal doctor if you take any headache medication, ergotamine or MAO inhibitors such as linezolid, furazolidone, tranylcypromine, phenelzine, selegiline.

Missed Dose
Imitrex is not to be taken routinely. Only take Imitrex when a migraine attack occurs.

Storage
Keep Imitrex in its container, at normal temperature and away from moisture and heat. Keep Imitrex out of the reach of children.

Pregnancy/Nursing
If you are pregnant consult your personal doctor before taking Imitrex.
